Tribal NSR Workgroup
With the expected promulgation of the Tribal New Source Review (NSR) rule in November 2010, the NTAA has recently reactivated the Tribal NSR Workgroup. This long-awaited rule will fill a regulatory gap by providing Tribes with the opportunity to establish permitting programs over both minor and major sources of air pollution located on Tribal lands. The Workgroup, originally formed to engage Tribes in drafting the rule, has reconvened to get an early start on assisting the EPA in developing appropriate guidance documents, model permits and to answer the many questions regarding implementation of the rule.
All interested Tribal representatives are invited to join the Workgroup. A series of monthly conference calls is planned, and a listserv and webpage have been created via the NTAA website to convey draft documents, announcements and other information to Workgroup members.
