Membership

By becoming either a Principal or Associate Member of NTAA, you and/or your Tribe will add your support for NTAA’s mission to advance air quality management policies and programs, consistent with the needs, interests, and unique legal status of American Indian Tribes and Alaska Natives. NTAA is the largest national Tribal membership organization focused on air quality and climate change. Add your support behind NTAA! Below is information on how to join.

  • NTAA is one of the nation’s largest Tribal membership organizations

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS:

Principal Membership

Principal Memberships are open to federally recognized Tribes upon submitting an application and a letter, resolution, or other formal indication of their intent to join, originating from their respective Tribal governing body and addressed to the NTAA Executive Committee. Principal Member Tribes have full membership privileges, including voting rights.

Associate Membership

Associate Memberships are open for anyone who agrees to share similar goals and objectives with NTAA including:

  • American Indian organizations, Tribal consortia including their individual representatives, and agencies 
  • State-recognized Tribes 
  • Individuals and Organizations that may include Tribal, environmental, or other professionals. 

As an Associate or Principal Member, one must abide by NTAA’s mission and agree to share similar goals and objectives with NTAA upon approval by the Executive Committee while upholding Tribal sovereignty and Tribal air quality programs. Associate Members are provided with full membership privileges with no voting rights.

Any individuals and organizations who wish to join NTAA can fill out the appropriate application below.  Principal Member applications must also include a letter signed by a member of the Tribe’s governing body.

Please submit your principal membership application and letter on Tribal letterhead to the NTAA in PDF format.
