Originally working as a Research Associate part time for ITEP’s National Tribal Air Association (NTAA), Carolyn began working full time in December 2022 as the Program Manager for the NTAA. Prior to working at ITEP, Carolyn worked as the Smoke Management Field Coordinator for the state of Washington’s Department of Natural Resources, focused on burn permitting, regulations, and approving/denying burn requests. In the summer, she deployed as an Air Resource Advisor providing smoke information to incident management teams and the public. Prior to working for the state, she ran the Air Quality Program for the Quinault Indian Nation. She is interested in all topics and policies related to air quality and looks forward to elevating Tribal voices as NTAA works to advance Tribal air quality programs and improve air quality nationwide.
